An ancient Chinese idiom says: “Qian Ren Qian Ti, Qian Ren Qian Fang” (千人千体,千人千方), which can be translated as “thousand people have thousand different constitution, therefor thousand different treatment methods should be applied”. For every individu we offer a personalized treatment plan, for the unique condition that one has. Together with 1000 TCM Ways you will be able to find the way that rebalances you.
Everything in the universe has its balance according to Chinese filosophy, e.g. Yin and Yang energies, the 5 elements. Our body is like a small cosmos maintaining its own balance so to provide us with physical and mental health, once the balance is off, we might get ill. Disbalance could be caused by stress, trauma, improper diet or life style, over use, emotional disturbances and aging. Luckily our body and mind have the wisedom to restore the balance itself, however, when the disbalance is overwhelming, TCM treatments such as acupuncture and healing herbs could be the key to rebalance yourself.
Acupuncture is a safe and natural healing method which is effective for wide range of conditions. Pain, insomnia, stress, irritable bowel syndrome, hay fever – to name a few. It activates the self healing energy of your body which we call Qi to restore the balance of your body and mind. Once the balance is restored, the symptoms will dissapear. During the treatment, fine acupuncture needles will be inserted into the body at strategic points for your condition, and they are left in for about 30 min while you relax (about one cycle that Qi circulate your body).
Chinese herbal medicine have had crucial value in treatment and prevention of various disease for thousands of years, long before the Western Medicine was discovered. In fact, more than one third of clinic drugs are extracted and/or derived from Chinese Herbal Medicine resources currently. The most well known one being the artemisinin. In 2015, You-you Tu was awarded the Nobel Prize due to the discovery of artemisinin, a therapeutic drug of Malaria extracted from the medicinal plant Artemisia Annua L. (Qing Hao). Chinese herbs remain its popularity nowadays, for those who are looking for a more natural way of healing, and for prevetion. I use the herbs from the Natuurapotheek, which is a registered pharmacy which provides high quality natural products.
Prevention is the key to health, ancient Chinese pilosophy pointed out that preventing disease from ever forming remains the best form of health care available. The strong point of TCM treatment is that it provides a holistic approach, seeing the body and mind as a whole, and respecting the nature by seeing human being a part of it. If you see the value of a healthy, balanced future, please do not hesitate to mail/call and book a session.

My name is Ai, I grew up in a southern province of China called Fujian, as a young girl I learned from my grandma to recognize certain herbs which grow in the nature, and how we can use them. My name Ai (艾) means actually Chinese mugwort (Artemisia argyi), a herb that we both use in cuisine and medicine. TCM flows in my blood as a native Chinese. But it is only after I become mother I have decided to change my career to become a TCM therapist. I want to help people to live healthier and happier with a elegant natural way of healing.
Originally I graduated from the Free University of Amsterdam. Having a masters degree in Neurosciences does help me to understand the “western side” of the story and look at things through scientist’s eyes, but that does not conflict with my TCM believes. We have learned to be sceptical in sciences, sciences certainly do not provide the answers for everything. For me the body cannot be seperated from mind, in that sense I tend to choose the holistic approach of TCM, and I believe it is a matter of time that science finds out how meridians work, just like they found out about how the radio waves and the microwaves work.
